ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units. The new 2015 ACLS algorithm has been simplified and streamlined to emphasize the importance of high-quality CPR (including compressions of adequate rate and depth, allowing complete chest recoil after each compression, minimizing interruptions in chest compressions and avoiding excessive ventilation) and the fact that ACLS actions should be organized around uninterrupted periods of CPR.
Unlike some on-line courses you might find, our program REQUIRES hands-on training to gain your AHA certification, which is in accordance with American Heart Association Program Administration guidelines.
