Mental Health First Aid

Program Description:

The intended audience for Mental Health First Aid training is primarily Law Enforcement, First Responders, 911 Dispatch Staff, HR Professionals, Nurses and other primary care workers and Education Professionals but the training is also valuable for caring citizens. Over 20,000 Police Officers, Correction Officers, and Public Safety staff across the country have taken this course. 

The 8-hour course teaches a 5-step action plan that provides the skills, resources and knowledge to help an individual in a crisis to connect with appropriate professional, peer and self-help care. The unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems are discussed and an understanding of the importance of early intervention is stressed.
